Inside the Box

This packaging is too similar to Bathorium for me. I love Bathorium. There’s nothing wrong with The Bathologist, I just prefer Bathorium. It’s nice to see such a hefty bag in this box.

Hydrate sweet orange + rosemary blend smells like nasty orange drink powder. I hope it smells better when mixed in the bathtub.

The Bathologist handmakes their items in Ottawa, so they’ve got that going for them.

Honibe Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies

Well, these expire June 2024, and it is currently June 2024. This must be another one of those “Let’s get rid of this discontinued product that’s going to expire in a couple of months!”, which they then sell for cheap to subscription boxes. Despite this, I tried two. They actually don’t taste that bad, but I did get a stomach ache later. Tony says he likes them. The ingredients are as follows:

  • sugars
  • water
  • apple cider vinegar
  • pectin
  • natural colours and flavours
  • citric acid
  • sodium citrate

These are supposed to be stored at less than 20 degrees celcius. Who keeps their house that cold??

Honibe is a Canadian company from Prince Edward Island.

This diffuser kit is pretty decent. The frankincense smells quite sweet and I don’t mind the smell.

Willow Collective is that interesting distribution company that states everything is made with love in Los Angeles, but it’s actually all from China?

This mask has a typical “skin care” smell, which is mildly unpleasant. It contains 96% naturally derived ingredients, one of which is bizarrely xylitol.

Lumene is a Finnish company and manufactures there as well.

This nail polish is vegan and 82% naturally derived. I’ve put a layer on my thumb nail, and it will definitely need more than one as it is not very opaque. It does seem to dry fairly quickly though. Two coats is probably sufficient, but despite globbing it on, there are still some thin spots. I do like the colour. It’s quite cheery.

I’ve been doing multiple subscription boxes for 2 years and this is the first nail polish. I guess it shouldn’t be too surprising as nail polish isn’t exactly a natural product, but I suppose this one is more so than most.

Mineral Fusions started in 2007 and claims to be America’s #1 natural cosmetics brand. I’d never heard of them, but I don’t live in the United States of America, though I do live on the American continent. Their head office is based in Petaluma, California.

Smartass & Sass Water Bottle & Straw

I am so sad to announce that Smartass & Sass is going out of business. With the economy tanking, it’s not working out for them. On a positive note, they have a massive sale going on for as long as they can. Products are 70% off! You can also get a one-time subscription box loaded with products. Take advantage while you can.

Smartass & Sass was founded in 2006.

“Fruit stem cell complex and resveratrol CoQ10 blended with organic avocado oil and pure dark cocoa, abundant in antioxidants and amino acids, help nourish and deeply condition for luscious, soft, smooth skin that glows.” Cool.

Andalou Naturals is an American company from Petaluma, California.

I tried to take a picture of the inside, but it does not lay flat or anything close to it. It very much likes to stay closed. It contains daily affirmations, monthly intentions and reflections, and inspirational quotes.

Overall Impression

This was an average box from The Balanced Company with loads of valuable goodies, worth well more than the price of the box. I like the water bottle from Smartass & Sass more than I thought I would, and I hope it inspires me to drink more water as I’ve been so dehydrated since breastfeeding. I was also happy to see the nail polish in the box. Although I don’t normally wear it, I might bust this out every so often.
