The problem with online shopping is that you never know what you’re going to get. Pictures, though very helpful, often aren’t an accurate representation of what you’ll receive. Size can be elusive unless there is something to compare it to, and even then you might misjudge. Colour, which is so finicky in the first place depending on the light’s brightness and temperature, can be altered by vendors trying to improve their photos with filters. On top of that, the settings and quality of the device you’re using can vary that impression. You never really know how it’s going to be until it’s in your hands.

Don’t get me wrong, this headband from Blush Silks is beautiful, but it is not the colour that I was expecting. When I saw the “champagne” colour on their site, I interpreted it as having more of a golden hue, when in actuality it’s more of a beige. This fact is more than a little disappointing. I hate beige. The colour in certain lighting is the same as my walls, which I did not paint, and have often termed “puke”.
As for size, this headband is large for my head. This is not the fault of the headband, my head is just small. It doesn’t help that the back of my head is a little flat, making it difficult for wider bands to stay on. The material being silk means it’s slippery, which makes it even harder to stay on my tiny head. I will probably still wear it, but it does look a little silly on me and requires adjusting every so often. On second though, it might do better as a gift.
