Inside the Box

fouFit Puptart

foufouBRANDS is a brand from Toronto with subsidiaries including fouFit. This chew toy is made from natural latex for gentle chewers. My dogs are not gentle chewers. They like to destroy. The puptart also squeaks!

Purchase your own puptart for $9.99 on their website.

fouFit Donut

Surprisingly not in the dessert line, fouFit has its own doughnut line, with 4 different flavours *cough* I mean colours. You can get your own doughnut latex chew for a pup you know online for $11.99. This also has a built-in squeaker! My dogs cannot resist squeaking things.

fouFit Woof Claw

Another toy from fouFit! This one is a cute play on an actual brand, White Claw. This one comes with a squeaker and is a chew for small to medium dogs… wait, what? I have 3 large dogs! Oh well. Have a gentle chewer or a toy cuddler that is small or medium sized? You can purchase your own for $13.99.

fouFit Boris the Grizzly

This is very tiny for my dogs and comes with a tricky little squeaker. If I didn’t know my dogs’ chewing habits very well, I wouldn’t find this a safe option for them. It is very soft and cute, though. Perfect for my nephew’s little mutt dog who doesn’t weigh more than 10lbs. You can get your own for $6.99.

Crumps Beef Mini Trainers

These are samples. If you haven’t read my opinion on samples, I don’t think they should be included in the overall value of a box. However, I do like Crumps, and I know my dogs love them, so I won’t turn my nose up at getting a few sample bags of it. There are 30g of treats here, and you can buy your own bag of 50g for $7.99 online. Having intentionally small pieces is really great for training, especially for freeze-dried things. When you try to break it up yourself it can often get messy, so to have it already done is great!

Boucherie Lamb Lung

Boucherie is, surprise surprise, another foufouBRANDS brand. I’m starting to wonder if Fetch Co. is a subsidiary of foufouBrands, though it doesn’t say that on either site. This 45g bag will cost you $9.99 online.

Cookie Pal Granola Bites

Cookie Pal is a natural pet treat company that strives to make the treats not only delicious, but functionally healthy as well. They are based in Vaughan, Ontario.

It’s interesting that these granola bites aren’t listed as products on their own website. Then again, maybe it’s not so surprising because these expired 4 days after receiving the box. You can’t buy these on their website since they’re not listed, but they do have a large list of stockists, including Canadian Tire, where you can pick up a 260g bag for $8.99.

All 3 of my dogs absolutely love these. They’re especially great for Maila who needs the joint support, but doesn’t like taking her glucosamine tablets.

Cookie Pal Bacon Crackers

This is another sample. I think the problem with these crackers, is that they are crackers. Crackers break quite easily. I had to dump out most of this tiny pack on the floor. Click here for more information from Cookie Pal. All my dogs enjoyed these treats.

You can pick up a 120g bag of these at a stockist like London Drugs for $6.99.

Oh My Dogness! Bully Stick Ends

Ok, this must be another sample, because you can’t get a bag smaller than 65g on their website. This is a little more than half that size, so maybe worth about $5-$6?

Wow these smell bad. But dogs like stinky things, and they are quite happy to chew these up. I don’t think I’ve ever smelled such a bad-smelling bully stick though. These are also quite small for my dogs.

Oh My Dogness! Pork Heart

This has to be another sample. The smallest quantity you can purchase on their website is 65g, and this is just one so…

This package does come with a $10 gift card for any purchase over $50 online.

Overall Impression

The website is very poorly done. Graphics are cut off, there are two TOS sections, but no FAQ or About. Maybe it works better on mobile, but I only check these things on my desktop. I really shouldn’t judge. It’s not like my own website is brilliant. I would like to know more about this company though. Why they started, who they’re affiliated with, etc. etc.

My sister cares a lot about presentation, and sometimes I roll my eyes at that, but she’s got a point. Nicely bundling up the pack in some tissue paper instead of just throwing all the products in together makes a difference. It’s those tiny little details that in the end could push me toward one company over another, especially if the product values are similar. This company hasn’t put much thought into presentation, or if they have, very little effort in executing it. The box is branded though, so I guess that’s something!

Now for the value of the box: The toys are valued at $43 before tax, which is just a little bit below what the price of the box is without shipping. The box only promises 6-9 premium items, and without the samples, that is technically correct. Does the actual value of the box add up to $100+? No. Not even close. Even with the samples, this isn’t the case. When including the cost of shipping I may have just hit the value. I’m not sure how I feel about this box yet. The winter box should be shipping soon, but thankfully I’m not locked into a long-term contract, so if the winter box doesn’t delight me, I can kiss this subscription goodbye.

Some positives:

  • My dogs like all the treats and toys, and I mean all of them.
  • All of the products are sourced from Canadian companies.
  • All of the treats are high quality and with limited ingredients.

Some negatives:

  • The toys and treats seem to focus on smaller dogs, which can be an issue when the recipients are large.
  • Samples appear to be included in the total value of the box.
  • One bag of treats was days away from expiration when received.
  • The monetary value was nowhere near advertised.
  • Where is the promised theme? This fall box could be from any time of the year.

I wonder how many customers they have, because I feel like I’m the only one with this subscription. I can’t find any reviews of this box. Have you ever purchased a box from Fetch Co.? Let me know!
