I got an e-mail from Peko today. It’s a play on Spotify’s “Wrapped”, so they have “Peko Wrapped”. This is nice, but it’s inaccurate. They said I only bought 1 box when I’ve received 3. Hmm… They also don’t include pantry items, so overall the Peko Wrapped is a disappointment.
The email also included a link to their Facebook group, which I’ve decided to join. I want to hear what other people who order Peko have to say about it and see how prevalent my experience is.

Inside the Box
This week we had:
1 cauliflower
4 white mushrooms
3 long eggplant
4 small eggplant
1 tomato
2 lemons
1 parsnip
1 yellowed & mouldybroccoli
1 bunch of peas
1 bunch of bananas
3 bunches of cilantro
6 apples
1 yellow bell pepper
3 shallots
1 bunch of very old spinach
Overall Impression
We’ve had something mouldy in each box so far, which is really unfortunate. As previously mentioned in other posts: peculiar doesn’t mean rotten. In this box, the broccoli and spinach are not edible. I will probably chop off the mouldy bits of the broccoli and feed the rest to my chickens.
I don’t know how long I will continue with this box. I like access to the pantry products at a discounted price without having to purchase $30 worth at once, but I’m torn between the desire to be part of the solution of food waste and not wanting to spend money on rotten products.
*Unfortunately we had to throw out most of the cilantro :(. We did get one meal out of it!
