Inside the Box
This week we had:
8 bunches of green onion with slimy bits. (WHY SO MANY!?)
8 white mushrooms
1 long eggplant
1 bunch of yellowing kale
1 pile of yellowed brussels sprouts
4 parsnips
4 squishy avocados
1 bunch mouldy and slimy asparagus
1 bunch of cilantro
1 bag of arugula
1 poblano pepper
1 chayote squash
Take a closer look at the quality of this asparagus…

Overall Impression
We have yet to have one box without something mouldy in it. The asparagus is unabashedly and completely inedible. I can’t even feed it to my chickens. Tony is absolutely done with these boxes, but I keep having this undeserved hope that things will get better.
After some more thought I decided to cancel. If anyone knows of a similar program that doesn’t send rotten produce, let me know.

I tried this box once in 2023 and never again, I pretty much had to throw out 100% as it was well beyond what was consumable…well maybe consumable but certainly not palatable, especially things normally eaten raw, like fruits.

Isn’t it terrible? They definitely don’t deliver what they say they’re offering. I used to volunteer at a food bank kitchen, and Peko was on par or worse than what we received there for free, which is all past-prime food.
