Inside the Box

This is our second box. I e-mailed Ryan about customizing for having 3 dogs and agreed upon adding 2 extra chews and 2 extra accessories. I thought this would start in February, but we happily got that this month. Now they’ve all got matching bandanas and each had a delicious chew that they ate during filming.

Pac-Man and Ghosts Toy

This toy is so fun I almost didn’t want to give it to the dogs. It is Pac-Man eating two ghosts! The ghosts each have a squeaker inside. Pac-Man doesn’t have any squeakers, but both top and bottom of the mouth are very crinkly. Needless to say, this toy is a hit with both the dogs and the humans.

*So Maila ended up with Pac-Man and has been playing with it for the past while. She’s not usually protective of toys, but she won’t let Canek anywhere near this one. She brought out her big girl voice to tell him off (though no one really believes her).

Salty Dogs Barkery Cod Skins ($12.95)

These are so stinky!! They were also massively enjoyed by the dogs. They took a surprisingly long time to get eaten, which is always great. If it was cost effective I would happily buy a giant box of these and feed them on the regular.

Woof Crate Lamb Liver Treats

These treats are designed by Woof Crate and contain just one ingredient: lamb liver. I am a huge fan of single-ingredient treats and I know they’ll absolutely love these.

Mario Bandana

I’ve got three of these so all my pups can match! Very cute, and I love the theme. I don’t know why, but I’ve really taken to dressing up and accessorizing my dogs the past year and a bit. I don’t do it often, but I enjoy it when I do.

Overall Impression

Another great box this month. I missed having the double amount of treats and toys, but the treats are high quality and the toys are a lot of fun.

So I’ve been paying an extra $10/month for an extra toy. In December they forgot to send it to me, so I got refunded $10. In January I think they sent the extra bandanas and chews in lieu of the extra toy because that add-on is supposed to cost $10 as well. I don’t know how I feel about replacing it without telling me. Ryan is great to deal with and seems hungry for business, but Woof Crate doesn’t quite have the same ease as something like Woof Pack, which found success on Dragons’ Den. I just like clear communication, and I know it’s hard, especially if this is still a side project and not a full-time gig. I don’t envy the operators of these subscription companies!

Okay so I went back and checked my order history. My order says extra toy for $10, and my subscription now says 2 extra chews and 2 accessories for $10 and no more extra toy. I think I’ll just leave it at that. We don’t really need any more toys, even if I want them XD.
