Inside the Box

April 2023 Grimoire Magazine

This month was the introduction of the courses to accompany the grimoire. As a subscriber I was able to access all four courses that were supplied: Crystal Healing, Honeys & Syrups, Poppet Magick, and The Land of Dreams. The courses are a really nice touch, and I hope to be able to spend some time focusing on them at some point. I’m delighted by plant medicine, so having a new course on syrups and honeys is a great refresher.

Patterns & Felt Sheets

The pattern pages have two sides to each, which confuses me. Generally you cut them out so you can trace them, right? It’s not like the felt is transparent. I briefly looked for specific instructions regarding these patterns, but didn’t find anything in the course or the grimoire. If you do decide to cut them out, you’ll have to decide which side you prefer of each pattern as cutting into one will make the other side useless.

There are 10 pieces of felt of different colours.

Sewing Kit

This is hands down the best small sewing kit that I have come across. Not only is it great for poppet making, but for small clothing repairs in general. Fabulous!

Spiral Rain always sends lovely candles. This one is no exception, and it’s always such a journey trying to get the crystals/stones out when the candle is all used up. The bigger stones, like this one, are much easier. This one contains a beautiful amethyst and marigold, and has a light, flowery scent.

Herbs

Lots and lots of plants to add to my apothecary. It’s a novelty for me to not have to go and harvest them myself like I did in my herbal medicine course.

Moon Dream Catcher

Rani hand made the dream catchers, and I am very excited to put it in my room. Tony has been having trouble sleeping lately, so it will be interesting to see if this helps. I think it’s supposed to come with amazonite, amethyst, and howlite. There is a small chain at the top, where I assume the crystals are supposed to hang, but we don’t have any stones on ours. That’s too bad. I’ve sent off an e-mail to Rani to see if that’s the case.

Spirituality Peace Tea

Well, no such thing as too much tea, right? I’ve so far enjoyed all the teas from Spiral Rain. This one contains black tea, lavender and natural essences, whatever those are.

Spirituality Bath Salts

No bath is complete without bath salts, so they are another item that is always appreciated in this house. This bag contains essential oils of jasmine, clary sage, and frankincense with lavender flowers and an amethyst.

This candle has lavender and sage, and is adorned with jasmine and an amethyst. It has a scent that reminds me of laundry that isn’t my own.

Om Amber Incense

I’ve been sitting next to this incense for over a month now and have been thoroughly enjoying it. This is really great incense. The scent is delectable.

Fire Bath Salts Replacement

Because there was a little accident with bottles breaking last month, we received a replacement of the fire bath salts! Yay!

These ones have a really nice and spicy earth smell. It contains essential oils of frankincense, cedarwood, sweet orange, cinnamon leaf, ginger, and clove with marigold and red jasper mixed in.

Fire Incense Replacement

This is also a replacement for the bottle that broke last month. It’s a really nice mix of scents. It’s slightly different to the Fire bath salts; this one contains myrrh, marigold, cinnamon, clove, orange peel, and essential oil of cedarwood and sweet orange. It also contains garnet, which was my favourite stone when my mom used to make jewelry.

Overall Impression

I always look forward to the Spiral Rain boxes, and is one of the few subscriptions that I look forward to renewing when the time comes. Things aren’t always perfect, but they’re always unique compared to my other boxes.
