I’m always a bit confused when the MSRP listed on the contents page is different than what the companies are selling their own products for. For example, the Blooming Wild Botanicals lotion bar is $18 on their website, but listed at $22 on Let’s Go Eco’s sheet. I can’t quite figure this out. Is it the company giving wrong information, or is it Let’s Go Eco doing bad research?

Inside the Box
I do not like bucket hats for myself, and I generally don’t like pink, so this isn’t a great item for me. On the plus side, it’s made of 100% cotton, and regardless of how you feel about the cotton industry, is completely biodegradable. You can also flip it inside out and have the plain pink hat. Apparently there were 3 other colours available, but not sure which ones. I can’t find any other unboxings on Instagram or YouTube, so doesn’t look like there’s a way for me to find out.
This is the second hat from Let’s Go Eco, and their last hat, the raffia hat that was in the summer 2022 box, was even worse. If you like that raffia hat, it’s on sale for $10 at the time of writing.

I basically never use straws. I’ve had the same box of paper straws for more than a decade now. I have no problem just using the cup or glass to drink. Blended ice drinks make it a little more difficult, but these straws are too small for those anyway.
A little note: Basic Goods Trading Co has merged with Net Zero Company.
I am a bit shocked that the link broke between the time of me editing and uploading the pictures, and the time of writing. But they were available on their website for $9.99. These straws are fairly thick, but the interior diameter is quite small and would not be good for thick drinks.
I’ve never found citronella to be effective in scaring away mosquitoes, but maybe a lemongrass combination will make it more effective. Who knows. The scent might just be more effective in scaring me away than the mosquitoes.
Happily made in Canada of 100% soy wax, they suggest not burning the candle for longer than 2 hours at a time.
Strangely, Serendipity has opted to not put any company branding on their candles. The company first started in 2002, but moved home to Collingwood, Ontario to open up a brick and mortar factory and store in November of 2016.
I’m a bit confused about this product. I really like my liquid lotions. The website says you can buy a refill, but I can’t find an option without the tin for this particular bar.
There are two other bars, listed in the “moisturizing” section of their website, but not in their “body care” section, that has refills listed at $12, or $10 on sale.
The lotion is a bit greasy, but the wildflower smell is quite nice. It reminds me a bit of my late grandmother.
Blooming Wild Botanicals is from New Brunswick.

Max’s Mints is a Dutch company and their website is an interesting mix of Dutch and English. Mostly Dutch though.
The mints themselves are fine. I don’t really eat mints, but Tony does and he didn’t give them a very high rating. As my palate is not nearly as refined as his in this regard, I’m not sure why they fall short of perfection.
This isn’t the most pleasant smell for me. After I got my tetanus shot this week it smelled absolutely revolting. It smelled like when a mouse dies in the walls of the house and starts to rot. Absolutely putrid. Now it’s back to being not the worst smell. It kind of reminds me of a tack store. We will see how it ends up tasting. Although to be honest, I hardly ever cook, so I keep forgetting to use our new spices when I do.

I have a lip balm addiction, and I had recently been wanting to see a more sustainable solution. This is perfect. I had once had a lipstick in the same type of container that I used for many years. It even survived being in my set bag for a very long time. But I had never seen a lip balm in one of these until now. Bravo Mae Mae!
Also, the watermelon flavour tastes like the watermelon Bubble Jug, or at least how I remember it tasting.
Mae Mae is from Val-des-Monts, Québec, which also happens to be the name of my friend’s horse business.
How can these possibly be valued at $38???
These are very small. The description suggests replacing the “red party cup” with these, but these are approximately half the size. Who uses Solo cups when there are only 4 people anyway? The point of them is that they are cheap, numerous, and require little (no) clean up. I think it’s a weird way for Let’s Go Eco to advertise these cups. The reality is most patio and camping cups are already not disposable.
Also, the paint is already starting to come off.
Overall Impression
This was an eh box and honestly makes me wondering if it’s time for me to cancel. I have no desire or use for the majority of these products. The only one I’m really stoked about is the lip balm. I’ll be doing a year recap soon.
What did you think of this season’s box?
