Inside the Box

All the toys this month are from Woof Plays, which is Woof Pack’s line of toys.

I’m a bit ashamed to say I don’t know anything about the Toronto Raptors, so this reference went way over my head. I had to look up who Vinny is a play on. The man is Vince Carter, who has some pretty great nicknames like Vinsanity and Air Canada. He played with the Raptors for 7 seasons in his 20s. Vinny Cartail, however, is not so successful, and doesn’t look like he’d manage a very good game.

Game On 2-in-1 Basketball

This toy is two in one! The clear spiky ball is inside the basketball, but can easily removed through the velcro in the back. This is a fairly large ball and nicely squishy. The spiky ball is one of Coco’s favourite types of ball, so she’ll be very happy to get this.

Travel Pup Backpack

When I signed up to get the extra toy every month, I thought it would be with the theme. This is only sometimes the case. Tony figures the backpack could be used by an athlete. I guess anyone can use a backpack. Whatever.

Woof Pack – Air Balls

Last month we had fire balls, now we have air balls, but the treats are neither. They are very flat pieces of dehydrated pork liver. I’m starting to wish the treats would also fall in line with the theming. Too much to ask for I guess.

lüv craft treats co Summer Streetball

I have to say I really like the colours of this package, especially the back.

These are also not shaped like basketballs. But I opened the pack and now I’m surrounded by dogs. These treats contain potatoes, sprouted barley, cheese, and poutine sauce. What is poutine sauce if not gravy?

Speaking of sprouts, did you know you’re not supposed to eat them while pregnant? Geez.

Jakers Beef Rib Bone

A very good bone. I finally gave my stocked up Woof Pack chews to the dogs the other day and they were very excited. The trachea, from the March box, didn’t last any amount of time. Hard to call it a chew when it’s eaten in less than 30 seconds. However the knuckle, from April’s box, has been a fan favourite. It resulted in a lot of growling and barking, sneaking, stealing, and Maila hiding inside afraid of her own daughter. Woof Crate doesn’t give real bone chews, but at least there’s no fighting amongst the pups since they all get a chew of equal proportion.

Overall Impression

Despite me actually liking basketball, this has probably been my least favourite theme this year. The basketball is pretty cute though, and I like that the second ball is removable, so I don’t have to wait for the basketball to get torn apart to use it.
