Do not subscribe to Loti. That’s my advice.

Ahh Loti. The inspiration for getting subscription boxes that ended with a whimper and a phone call to Visa. They didn’t *quite* fulfill my commitment, but charged me for the last box anyway.
Things started off fine. I found out rather quickly that this was not the type of box that I appreciate, so was not exactly delighted with most of the items. I lamented being stuck in a 12-month contract, but never once though it would end in the place that it did.
Loti moved at some point. They were originally in Richmond, but moved to Toronto. I don’t know if that’s what caused things to start slipping or what. It became really noticeable in January, when I was about halfway through my subscription. That’s when they moved the workbook and packing list online. Or so they said, 4 days after I received my box. To top that off one of the items I received didn’t match the packing list. Someone commented on my YouTube channel that they were missing two items. I inquired about this and it took twelve days for them to respond. I hoped this was a one-time blunder because they were coming off of the holiday season. Instead, it was a sign of the disaster (from a subscriber’s perspective) of what was to come.
I found the value began to go down significantly. The quality of many items decreased and I started to receive duplicates in almost every box. They also stopped posting the item lists after March 9. The last post on their blog was April 2. Last Instagram post was April 28. On their April 27 post someone commented that they still hadn’t received their May box, and the same thing again two weeks later. No response from Loti at any point. On Facebook, all negative comments were removed, including mine responding to a comment complaining about the lack of communication. The negative reviews have started though:
I e-mailed them on May 13 warning them that I would be cancelling my subscription the following month, once my contract was completed. I never received a response.
After my July box was charged on June 10th, I cancelled my subscription. I wanted to get it out of the way before I forgot and got renewed for another 12-months.
I typically received my boxes anywhere from the 7-15th of the month. On July 22 I still hadn’t received my final box, so I sent an e-mail inquiring. I never received a response.
On July 29 I e-mailed again, because my order was no longer showing as processing online, but now on hold. I stated that I had already inquired and had not heard anything back and that if I didn’t hear back soon I would start a claim on my credit card.
I gave them another 11 days. Unsurprisingly I received no response so filed a claim with Visa to get a refund. Not a great end to a not-so-great subscription. Despite me whole-heartedly not recommending this subscription, I did get a few items that I enjoyed.
