I ordered this for my dad for Father’s Day, thinking it would come in June. It barely came in July.

Inside the Box

These were pretty good when I first tried them. It’s now August 30th, and the best before date is August 11, so they’re currently not in the best state possible.

I don’t understand the concept of wanting something to smell like rain water. This certainly doesn’t smell like that, but then I can’t quite figure out what rain water smells like. Water doesn’t have much of a smell to begin with. In any case, it’s never a bad thing to have more body wash.
Mrs. Meyer’s is an American company that set out to make cleaning products that smell like a garden but also work well.
I like that Thirsty Buddha is making an effort to create healthier options for sweet beverages. Whether or not we should be drinking sweet beverages is beside the point. If we’re going to do it, might as well be healthier. I hope it actually tastes like root beer as I do love that flavour.

Sukin is a pretty decent brand, as far as I know. This facial scrub doesn’t have an intense scent.
Sukin is an Australian company with a large “no list” that started in 2007.
I will say I do enjoy using a scalp scrubber when I wash my hair. I just don’t need 4 of them. Anyone want a scalp scrubber?

It’s interesting that this is a pharmacist developed product. I was expecting to see some arnica in it, but the medicinal ingredients are:
- methyl salicylate
- methold
- eucalpytus leaf oil
- capsicum frutescens fruit extract
Zax’s was founded in 2007 in Canada by a family. “Our products are made with natural ingredients, pharmacist-developed alongside a team of leading chemists and botanists.”

It appears that this product has been discontinued. It states that on Well.ca and it cannot be found on Back to Earth’s website.
I’m not surprised that it’s been discontinued as the product is kind of gross. I don’t know if it’s because it expired this year or because it was a bad product to begin with, but it it incredibly runny making it completely impractical. The smell isn’t great either. I’ll probably just toss this one out.
Back to Earth is a Canadian company in the Okanagan focusing on natural, ethically sourced ingredients.

Wahoo! More hot sauce. This one had oak pellets infused.

Even more hot sauce! This one has orange pulp. Cool.

This shampoo definitely smells like ayurvedic shampoo. I’m still not deep in my understanding of ayurveda, but the products tend to have a certain scent. I’m interested in trying this as my Tanit shampoo bar is quickly running out. It does this exponentially faster than its corresponding conditioning bar.
Auromère is an American company and “has been a leading importer of Ayurvedic products since 1979.” It is owned by a non-profit and is run by members and volunteers as part of their spiritual practice.
This body bar has a spicier scent, likely due to the cinnamon content.

This is a pretty nice leather wallet. Apparently it is naturally tanned without the use of chemicals. It also has RFID protection.

Overall Impression
This box actually would have made a decent Father’s Day gift. I don’t think my own father would have appreciated many of the items, but for another father, maybe it would have been the case. My mom’s ex husband might have been a good recipient.
