The Balanced Company – Balanced Pantry September 2023

This is our last pantry box. I did a 3-month subscription only. And although I enjoyed being exposed to the products, I didn’t feel like it was really adding to or replacing my pantry items. There was also frequently a lot of duplicates, which I’m not a huge fan of.

Inside the Box

We got this granola last year and it was pretty good. Some of it was a bit burnt, but aside from that it was yummy.

La Fourmi was started in 2004 in Quebec.

We got alder pepper before, and now we’ve got some juniper berries and rosehip powder to try. They all expire soon, so hopefully we use them before they expire. Chances are very slim.

Boreal Heartland began in 2017 in Saskatchewan.

Another pancake mix! It’s gluten free, so hopefully it’s good. I have some gluten free friends, and their products can be hit or miss.

Floating Leaf is from Sunnyside, Manitoba, and manufactures their products in Canada.

I didn’t get to pick blackberries and make jam this summer, so this is a welcome product. It contains not just blueberries, but cherries, grapes, cranberries, and apple pectin. What an interesting combination!

Crofter’s is from Ontario.

Tabañero Curry Habanero – $8.00 USD

Tony and I both love hot sauce, and we’ve never had this type of hot sauce. I’ve had hot curry before and I’ve had habanero before, but never the two together. This has a best before date of November 2023, so I guess we’ve got to get on that.

Tabañero is a company from Florida.

Apparently stevia is 300x sweeter than sugar.

Crave Stevia is manufactured in Nanaimo, BC.

Safe Catch tests all of their tuna for mercury. It is also dolphin and turtle safe. “Our tuna is traceable from catch to can and we only buy from captains whose fish come from managed and sustainable tuna stocks.”

Safe Catch is an American company that packs their tuna in Thailand.

Only 2g of sugar and 10g of protein!

Buddha Brands is from Quebec.

Overall Impression

Once again we received 9 items this month, and 4 of them were also in the Big Snacker box. Are they snacks or are they pantry items!?
