Information on Each Supplement

Overall Impression

This supplement is crazy expensive and I didn’t notice enough (any?) difference in my health or mood in order to spend $90/month on these. That’s right: each container is enough for one month. My prenatal vitamin lasted longer than 3 months for less than a third of the price, which makes this one (if taking both Mama Support and Mood), 9 times as expensive? Geez.

One of the first things that I noticed when looking at the ingredients, was the significant lack of iron (only 8mg!). As someone who was anemic at the time of giving birth, and who bled a lot (don’t we all?) for the next 6+ weeks, iron is an important mineral to supplement postpartum. My regular mulitvitamin has 18mg of iron, and my prenatal had 27mg. The other thing is that you have to take two pills per jar every day, and the Mama Support tastes foul. I also found that for me, my stomach became a little upset after taking these pills.

The Goods:

  • Manfuactured in Canada
  • Local Company
  • Nice Packaging
  • Good intentions

The Not-So-Goods:

  • Low in iron, vitamin A, and other minerals
  • Need to take 2 pills of each type daily
  • Expensive
  • Mama Support is disgusting

These didn’t meet my needs, and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone on a tight budget. If you want to spend the money and see if they work better for you, give them a whirl! The reviews on their website are fantastic! As for me, I will stick with my prenatal multivitamin in the postpartum weeks if I ever give birth again.
