Studio 36’s website is currently shut down for their VIP sale, so I can’t link the product from their site. I linked Preggo Box instead as that is where I first encountered the product, and where I ended up buying two more containers from.

There are two parts to this:
- I used this nipple butter as intended at the end of the first week postpartum. It felt nice, but my baby started being fussy and spitting up a lot. I did some research and found that Vitamin E is not good for newborns as they can’t digest it (this is actually false). I immediately panicked, and stopped using it, thinking I had damaged my baby. I must have been delusional, as I never found this information again. In fact, now all I see is that vitamin E is good for newborns. In any case, it was a nice nipple butter for the short period of time I used it.
- This fall, probably due to dehydration as I never seem to drink enough water, I’ve been having nasty bouts of angular cheilitis that was being aggravated by my normal lip balms. I was getting desperate to try something better. I tried straight coconut oil, I tried propolis (sadly this was expired), I tried straight lanolin, and then, since I was on the nipple balm train, figured I should try this nipple butter. I will never go back. It is hands down the best lip balm I have ever used, and I have been using lip balm since I was a child.
Overall Impression
I highly recommend this as both a nipple butter and as a lip balm. I know it’s kind of weird walking around with a 4oz tin with the word nipple on it, but I don’t care. No other lip balm compares to this wonder. My lips feel soft, moisturized, and it really helps my angular cheilitis. Even if I have an active flare, I put this on the sores and despite having open wounds, I’m okay to open my mouth wide. It may be a coincidence, but I find that it also helps heal the sores. I lost the container for a few days and the angular cheilitis came roaring back. My lips were miserable and a rash developed despite using other products. I found the container again and within a few days, the sores had disappeared. Seriously, if things continue this way I will never use another lip balm again.
The Goods:
- Manufactured in Canada
- Cost effective – $25 for 4oz compared to literally anything else designed for lips
- Decent taste
- Feels nice
- Natural ingredients
The Not-So-Goods:
- Large container is less portable
- “Nipple” on the container can be awkward when putting on lips
Buy this and let me know what you think, and if you don’t like, send it to me! I’ve already bought two more containers as I don’t ever want to be without this glorious product.
