Pobi Baby Changing Pad Cover Review

Pobi Baby Changing Pad Covers – Zephyr

I liked the Pobi Baby crib sheets so much I decided to try ordering straight from their website instead of Amazon to see how it differed. I decided to purchase new sheets and a pair of changing pad covers. Spoiler alert: Amazon does Pobi Baby’s fulfillment and shipping.

Overall Impression

The new sheets and changing pad covers came way faster than I expected. Something I also didn’t expect is that the fabric is totally different than the fabric of the first two sheets I got. These ones definitely feel like a cotton blend, whereas the first sheets are really quite soft, and feel more like a bamboo or microfiber blend. I have no idea why they are so different. The company tags are also slightly different, so I wonder if it’s a different batch or something.

The changing pad cover fits tightly on my changing pad. There is not enough slack in it to lay flat with no baby, but that doesn’t create any issues. One thing I like, which I didn’t have with my old covers, is the holes for the safety straps. I don’t think I’ve ever used them, but I like that there is the option.

From their website: “Best of all, our covers do not wrinkle, shrink, or stretch out, even with many washes.” This is quite false for this shipment of covers. They arrived quite wrinkly, as you can see in the pictures above, but quickly smoothed out when put on the pad. The website boasts about a thick elastic band, and that is accurate.

The Goods:

  • Dimensions: 32″ x 16″ x 4″
  • 95% Cotton, 5% Spandex
  • OEKO-TEX Certified
  • Canadian Company
  • Beautiful Designs
  • “Responsibly” Manufactured in China
  • Free Shipping in Canada over $50
  • Holes for Straps

The Not-So-Goods:

  • Manufactured in China
  • Not Cheap
  • Slightly Complicated Washing Instructions
    • Hand wash & hang to dry (for best results)
    • or machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle and tumble dry (for ease)

Good for People Who:

  • Want to support a Canadian company
  • Enjoy nice designs

Despite this second batch of sheets not being nearly as soft as the first ones, I still recommend them, but I would probably try a different company in the future just to try something different.
