Mumgry Chocolate Hazelnut Butter Spread Review

Mumgry Chocolate Hazelnut Butter Spread

I love the combination of chocolate and hazelnuts. I came across this product back in late July at the Fox and Thistle Mercantile and saw that this container was going to expire in September. I figured I would help stop food waste and purchase a jar to enjoy.

Cost: $19 + tax

My cost: $18.90 + tax

Highlights:

  • Contains only hazelnuts & dark chocolate

Manufactured in: Canada, presumably in the Vancouver area

Company Base: Vancouver, BC

Established in: 2018

Overall Impression

As we had less than 2 months to consume the container before expiry, we polished it off pretty quickly. So quickly, in fact, that I forgot to take a picture of the full container. Oops. It tasted quite good. The only two ingredients are: hazelnuts and dark chocolate. Of course the dark chocolate has its own list of ingredients: sugar, chocolate liquor, cocoa butter, and soy lecithin.

I definitely enjoyed this, but the price is a bit prohibitive, and I would likely not purchase again unless it were on sale.

The Goods:

  • Tastes good
  • Minimal ingredients

The Not-So-Goods:

  • Expensive

Good for People Who:

Would like a healthier alternative to Nutella, would like to support a Canadian brand, and can afford it! As with so many of these small brands, price is a huge barrier.
