Chimparoo Ring Sling Review

Chimparoo Woven Ring Sling (Aquaterra Size 1)

I was still new to baby carriers at the time and I found this Chimparoo ring sling on Amazon for $89.99. I had been reading in r/babywearing that lots of people liked ring slings and that they were pretty easy to learn to use. For $100 from a Canadian company, I figured what the heck, and I should try it. I’m glad I did.

I must first clarify that I am not a baby wearing expert and these are my personal opinions based on my experiences. Despite over a year of research, I have so much more to learn and improve upon.

The Goods:

  • Sewn in Canada
  • Canadian company
  • Comfortable
  • Quick and easy to use

The Not-So-Goods:

  • Particular aesthetic
  • Limited colour and pattern options

Good for people who:

  • Want to support a Canadian company
  • Want to support Canadian manufacturing
  • Don’t want to spend a ton of money on something fancier
  • Have a child who is in and out of the carrier all the time

This carrier was a great investment for me. It’s not a fancy one, so after I started hoarding carriers, this one went to live in my car for “emergencies”. It has come in handy dozens of times, and gets used at least a few times a month. I like that it’s significantly shorter than my other ring slings. Not having to deal with a lot of extra fabric keeps things cleaner, especially living in the PNW.
