Lil Helper – Reversible Bandana Bib Review

Lil Helper Reversible Bandana Bib

I think under Lil Helper’s definition of “reversible” everything is reversible.

Cost: $14

My cost: $4 + tax (it was 2023 with 40% off in the sale section)

Date Ordered: November 18, 2023
Date Shipped: November 20, 2023
Date Received: Don’t remember

Highlights:

  • Canadian Company

Manufactured in: China

Company Base: Toronto, Ontario

Established in: 2011

I added a bib to my order because I was taken in by the company’s marketing and I wasn’t sure if I would need one or not as this was long before I gave birth. Babies often seem to be wearing bibs, so I figured at only $4, why not? It seemed like a decent investment. I don’t like a lot of Lil Helper’s designs, but I found one that seemed okay.

Overall Impression

Despite having a baby that spat up constantly, I hardly ever put bibs on him. He spat up too much for a small bandana to save his clothes from gobs of milk puke. After a few attempts, I realized it was easier to just wash his clothes than to wash his clothes and a bib. Anyway, this bib never got used. I put it on him once, and took it off right away. It is literally the worst fit of all the types of bibs I was given by friends and family. Below is how it looked at around 20 months. It fit worse when he was younger.

How the bib fit at 20 months

I really hate how this company talks itself up. It pretends like it has invented the wheel, that they are innovative. They call this bib reversible, they call it food grade, they say it can fit from newborn to beyond college, they say it can fit dogs, they say “you’re welcome” for having snaps instead of velcro. I just roll my eyes now. The majority of my bibs have snaps. They say it has a 5-star rating (see below), but it’s just a graphic. There are no actual reviews. It’s all just cheeky marketing for a mediocre product.

5 Stars according to whom?

The Goods:

  • Canadian company

The Not-So-Goods:

  • Made in China
  • Expensive
  • Doesn’t fit well

Good for People Who:

  • Like Lil Helper

I definitely don’t recommend wasting $14 on a tiny, ill-fitting bib that’s made in China. It’s seriously inexcusable that they charge so much for something that could easily be manufactured in Canada, but isn’t. The margins on their products must be insane. No wonder they stopped working as “rocket scientists”.
