Millie + Moose Family Pyjamas Review

Millie + Moose Matching Family Pyjamas (Christmas Icons)

I’d never had matching family pyjamas before. I knew some families who had done it, and when I was a teenager I thought it was a little hokey, but when trying to come up with traditions for my own family I thought it might be fun to try. Zero regrets. My toddler loves it. I love it. I highly recommend matching pyjamas.

Pyjamas for the whole family

Here’s something I learned from this experience: a night shirt is basically a night gown. I thought it was the men’s matching shirt. I wasn’t interested in spending $28 on a boring, plain, green t-shirt for my partner, which doesn’t even match! Certainly the night shirt was the men’s button up version! Nope. I was wrong. I got my partner the S/M as he’s not a big guy, but it’s clearly meant for women. It shrunk so much after it got washed, it now has 3/4 length sleeves on him. Sadly, he doesn’t wear it often and was a waste of $42.

Please someone tell me why the men’s pants, which have pockets, are cheaper than the women’s pants, that have no pockets? I am sooooo tired of women’s pants not having pockets. I want pockets! I’m pretty sure the vast majority of us want pockets in our pants! Also, why don’t they both have the white piping? When I want things to match, I want them to really match.

The toddler pyjamas are quite generous in length so we had to roll them up for quite a while. Now that our son is two, they’re an appropriate length. However, and this is a big however, the hole for the head is quite small making it fairly difficult to get the pyjama top off. This is the same for both the Christmas Icons and the Canada Moose set, which are the same size. I don’t have this problem with any of my son’s other pyjama brands.

Overall Impression

The pyjamas give me mixed feelings. They are comfortable, and I like that they are organic cotton, but I do wish the fabric was better quality, as my pants have already ripped at the seam.

I bought their Canada Moose bottoms for my partner and me as well as the toddler set as they were really on sale (around $10 per item), and I feel like that is a better price point for the quality.

The Goods:

  • Made of organic cotton
  • Whole family can match
  • Comfortable

The Not-So-Goods:

  • No matching top for men (plain green t-shirt doesn’t count in my books!)
  • Women’s pants don’t have pockets
  • Toddler head hole is very small
  • They don’t identically match
  • Thin fabric
    • Seam started ripping after two months of occasional wear
  • Pricey

Good for People Who:

  • Can afford them
  • Want to match, but not identically
  • Don’t need their pyjamas to last very long

I would buy from Millie + Moose again, but only with a steep discount like I got on the Canadian Moose set. I can’t justify spending the full price on pyjamas that won’t last very long, even if they are organic cotton, and there are lots of other small Canadian clothing brands.
