T-Surprise – August 2022

This box took a very long time to get to me. The company says it ships out between the 2nd and 12th of every month, but I didn’t get a shipping notification until August 19th (keep in mind I ordered on July 23). However, after 3 weeks of no box, I e-mailed them and they said they’d look into it. Not longer after I got a notification that my box had been shipped (whether August or September I didn’t know) and eventually received both boxes in one envelope. I was quite concerned for a while that I got completely scammed, but I’m happy to report that this is not the case.

Inside the Box

Zyo is a Canadian company based in Saint-Jérôme, Québec. They proclaim to be a “high quality organic and vegan online grocery store.” This green tea based piña colada variety sells for $8.50 for 50g. This little package weighs in at 22g. This is a fairly unique flavour to me so I’m quite interested in trying it.

Bisou was started in 2019 by Philip Cole and Zlata Kislyuk, mixing artisan teas with art. They are based in Toronto, Ontario. I can’t find this tea on their website, so not sure how much it retails for.

Nāo is another Québec company focusing on natural teas and respecting the environment. I also can’t find this tea on their website, so not sure how much it retails for, but they have some pretty interesting and expensive teas listed. Unfortunately if you don’t read French, you might have a difficult time navigating the website.

These are very good and I was pleasantly surprised to find them in the box.

This tea smells really good and fruity and the cold brew suggests leaving in the fridge for 10-12 hours to steep.

This straw also has no branding. I already have quite a few metal straws that I rarely use, but I think this is the thickest one, so would be good for things like milkshakes.

Overall Impression

I like this box. I think it has a nice variety and is creative with what’s inside. Since the card is in French and my French isn’t very good, it can be amusing to try to figure out the information.
