Huha Boxers

Watch the pitch on Dragons’ Den here.

Cost: $28 + tax + shipping

My cost: $98.75 (5 pairs on sale with free shipping)

Highlights:

  • Very soft
  • Anti-microbial mineral lining

Manufactured in: China

Company Base: Vancouver, BC

Established in: 2020

As I am currently pregnant and my belly has been constantly growing, my old underwear just wasn’t cutting it anymore. I had had my eye on Huha for a while, and since I already needed new underwear, decided to give them a go. I bought one of each colour available in the boxer style. This amounted to a 10% discount for the bundle.

They came a lot quicker than I had expected. I ordered on November 23, but because of Black Friday and the holiday season, I was informed that my package would be shipping as late as December 7. They ended up shipping out on November 27, and arriving on November 30. This definitely pleased me.

Overall Impression

I’ve been wearing these on and off for a couple weeks now and I have to say they are very comfortable, but not perfect. They are definitely the softest underwear that I have ever owned, but they seem to get less soft with each wear and wash. I have three pairs that I have worn and 2 that I have not, and the new pairs are significantly softer than the (clean!) used ones. They’ve gone from a silky texture to a more cottony one. It’s fine, just not expected. It would also be nicer to not have such thick seams, especially on the legs. Though I’m sure it helps keep them in place, they become quite obvious under leggings or other tight pants.

The gusset is a really nice length and much higher than other underwear I’ve worn. This is the area that is infused with zinc oxide, which is supposed to help kill microbes. I do have to say that after a sweaty day, there isn’t any smell which usually accompanies a sweat sesh. One thing I don’t like about the gusset, which may be due to its breathability, is that it doesn’t stop any liquid from going straight through. If you are somebody who has heavy discharge, it is something to consider as it will go through and mark the outside. Another thing is that the gussets are already starting to pill after less than a month of wear. I also don’t like the lack of ease with washing. I much prefer clothing I can toss in the washer and dryer.

I do like them overall, and would probably buy more during a good sale. Spending $30 on a pair of underwear is a little ludicrous to me.
