The way my body is shaped means that my thighs rub together no matter my size. Even when I was a tiny 85lbs I would end up with my thighs rubbed raw if I wore the popular-at-the-time board shorts while swimming. I am also a fairly sweaty person with sensitive skin. This all together is a bad combination. For 20+ years I have almost exclusively been wearing pants partly to avoid this problem. The odd time I wear a skirt or dress, of course I wear shorts underneath, which caused constant readjusting. That is, until I finally got some shorts from Thigh Society.
Overall Impression
I keep recommending these shorts to women, but not one has followed through so far. For myself I wish I’d bought these when they first came out, but I was still in a period of life where I was very distrustful and did not often buy things online.
I love the cargo shorts, and I especially love that they have a pocket that fits my phone. These shorts really do stay in place. I recently went to Maui and it was unseasonably hot. I ended up wearing a lot of dresses, and the shorts were a lifesaver. As so many dresses don’t have pockets, it was great to be able to take my essentials with me without dragging around a bag. I have used the cargo shorts for hiking, countless walks, and running, and they are still in perfect shape.
The Staple shorts are much lighter and somewhat sheer, so not intended to be worn on their own. They were perfect for when I was going out and didn’t need a pocket. They were cooler than the cargo style, and I found I sweat less with them on.
The Goods:

- Variety of colours, sizes, and thickness
- They stay in place
- Cargo style is opaque
- Super stretchy
- Can wear without underwear (cargo style)
The Not-So-Goods:
- Price?
- Not good if you like a looser style?
Good for People Who:
- Women whose thighs rub together
- Women who are moisture-laden
- Women who want athletic shorts with a pocket that are opaque and stay put (cargo style)
I highly recommend these shorts and would own many more pairs if I didn’t wear pants the vast majority of the time.
