As much as I enjoy and appreciate the Acre 75 boxes, I have opted to cancel my subscription. As you have to prepay for the subscription boxes months ahead of time (my last charge was on September 20), the Winter 2023 box will be our final box from this company.

Inside the Box
A list of the businesses from this season, where they’re from, and a fun fact about each town!
This flour is grown and milled in Ontario. This company also only ships to Ontario currently, so if you’re out of the province, you’re out of luck.
When it says “cheese & garlic biscuit mix” I’m assuming that I would just add liquid ingredients and voila! Alas you have to add the cheese as well. I guess it makes it better for the lactose intolerant and vegan people. I am interested in trying this out.

This candle smells like hot apple cider, so is a perfect fall scent.
As there are only social media pages at the time of writing, it is difficult to find information about this company. The price of the candle is only a guess based on the prices of slightly larger candles.
*Update: December 30 2024*
I was having issues with this staying lit, but discovered that trimming the wooden wick helped a little bit. This is no easy feat in such a small container. I will say, even when it is lit (and staying lit) the flame is not very large and I wouldn’t go out of my way to purchase one of these.
We also got a knitted pumpkin last year in the True North box. My dogs stole and ate the small cinnamon stick inside. This year’s pumpkin is much less appetizing and quite a bit smaller. No guarantee the dogs won’t try to play with it, though.
Soap is a commodity, so I will never turn my nose up at more soap. After hearing about the benefits of potato water from the hand balm we received in The Balanced Company’s summer box for women, I am very curious to try this out. It’s cute that it comes in a little potato sack, but it’s just more garbage to have to throw out eventually. It doesn’t feel like natural fibre, so it will sadly sit in the landfill for many decades to come.
These are quite tasty. This company makes their own pumpkin spice blend and grow their own pumpkins too! Their roasting technique is patent-pending, believe it or not.

I really don’t understand this. Unless you have a neutral decor themed house, why on earth would you replace a tissue box that is already abundantly full of colour and design and put a wrinkly beige cover on top? I guess if you hate the patterns on the tissue boxes. I am tacky and I like colour.
I did try this on one of my tissue boxes. It’s too small. First it was difficult to put on, and I had to squish the box to do so. Second, it leaves about half an inch exposed at the bottom, so not even fully doing its job of covering the tissue box.
Aside from that, I do appreciate Lot 8’s desire to use dead stock fabric.
Overall Impression
With a total retail value of only around $68, that’s a difference of about $35 from what I paid. Ouch. As great as the mission of this company is, I can’t justify spending that amount to discover businesses from small towns across Canada. There are plenty of local makers I can discover and benefit directly.
